A New Sensory Space for Melksham House School
A New Sensory Space for Melksham House School

We’re delighted to share that Melksham House School in Wiltshire now has an AmbiSpace sensory igloo, giving students a calm, comfortable place to regulate, reset, and enjoy sensory activities throughout the school day.
Harriett Evans, Office Manager, shared how quickly the igloo has made an impact: “The sensory igloo has been a fantastic addition for our students. We've only had it for a short time, but it has quickly become a favourite. The students love having a calm, comfortable space where they can relax, regulate their emotions, and enjoy sensory activities. It has already made a positive impact, and we are delighted with it.”
Students were just as enthusiastic: “I like the sensory dome, or as I call it, the wonder dome. Ohhh I like it.” and “This is so cool, why haven’t we always had this?”
đź’ˇ Why Sensory Igloos Make a Difference
- Regulation support: A predictable, calming space helps students manage overwhelm and sensory overload.
- Emotional wellbeing: Quiet environments reduce anxiety and support self‑soothing.
- Inclusive design: Sensory spaces benefit neurodivergent, Deaf, anxious, and overwhelmed learners alike.
We’re proud to support Melksham House School in creating an environment where every student feels safe, supported, and included.
